Description
Clean 1939 Rickenbacher Model 59 lap steel guitar, this is a pre-war version with 1 1/2 inch horseshoe pickup and one volume control and one tone control. Excellent condition and all original. Body/Neck construction of stamped steel, It's an early model spelled "Rickenbacher Electro" on the headstock badge. The matching amp serial number E2427 is designed for 110V 60Hz power. The amplifier does not produce full volume and needs some work, maybe new tubes. It's a very simple design, featuring a 5Z4 full wave rectifier, a 6N7 double triode, one triode as an input amplifier, the other as a phase-splitter, and a pair of 6L6's in push-pull output. The speaker does not have a permanent magnet, so there's an electromagnet instead, AKA Field Coil design.
